Sensei Sergio Gneo is the chief instructor of the JKA in Belgium for over 20 years.These lines summarize his martial way:
- ten times winner of the Belgian championship (kata);
- second and third places at the JKA World Championship (kata team);
- twice winner of the ESKA, European karate championship (kata team);
- in 1975, finalist of the IAKF, world karate championship (kumite);
- in 1982, winner of the all Japan Open karate Championships (kata team);
- in 1989, winner of the all Japan Open karate Championships (kumite team);
- In 1985, Sergio Gneo was named assistant instructor of the JKA Belgium by Satoshi Miyazaki sensei ;
- in 1993, before his death, Satoshi Miyazaki sensei designates sergio Gneo as his successor;
- since, he is the chief instructor of the JKA Belgium;
- currently, he is 7th dan and is part of the technical and administrative committees of the JKA Europe.

For almost 50 years, this passionate practices the karate and works for the development of his art. With the help of his team and his predecessor (Satoshi Miyazaki shihan), he is undoubtedly one of the main architects of the development of the JKA in Belgium and in Europe.
